BETTY HOLDING DANCERS FUND
Wake Forest Dance Festival is honored to have the opportunity to provide Dance Scholarships to local students. The Betty Holding Dancers Fund is generously providing this opportunity for the rising advanced dancers who are driven and passionate about dance.
The Betty Holding Dancers Fund is named in honor one of Wake Forest’s first dance teachers, Elizabeth H. Holding, known as “Betty.” A former Rockette who performed at the famed Radio City Music Hall in New York City in the 1940’s, Betty taught ballet, tap, pointe and acrobatics to generations of Wake Forest girls and boys from the 1950’s to the 1990’s. Her dedication to the dance education of her students and her talent and artistry are legendary. Her family is proud of her accomplishments and her impact on dance in this community and have established this fund in her memory.
Scholarships at $500 will be available to the students who are currently enrolled in a dance program at a dance school/college/university. THE BETTY HOLDING DANCERS FUND scholarships are available to the student performers of the Wake Forest Dance Festival only.
